Morocco Itinerary 12 Days
12 days of Morocco from Casablanca — Tangier, Fes, Merzouga and Marrakech — with your private car and driver throughout.
More detailsThe route we recommend most often for a first Morocco road trip — cities, mountains and the Sahara, with a private driver.
Planning the best Morocco road trip itinerary? The country rewards a loop rather than a straight line — combining imperial cities, the High Atlas, the Sahara and the coast so you never double back. With a private driver you get all the freedom of a road trip without any of the driving stress. Here's the route we recommend most.
Start and finish in different cities to avoid backtracking.
A night in the dunes is the trip's highlight.
Marrakech, Fes and a taste of the Atlantic.
The Atlas passes and gorges between it all.
Our favourite first-time loop runs Marrakech → Aït Benhaddou → Dades & Todra gorges → Merzouga (desert night) → Ziz Valley → Fes, ideally with a coastal detour to Essaouira near the start. Over seven to ten days it delivers cities, mountains, desert and sea in one seamless journey — and by ending in Fes you never repeat a road.
Build in at least one full day in both Marrakech and Fes; don't rush the desert — three days there beats a frantic two; travel in spring or autumn for the kindest weather; and keep driving days under six hours by breaking them with sights. A private driver makes all of this effortless.
